High Country 4-H Club members make Christmas stockings to give to local seniors.

Christmas is a time of giving. As such, High Country 4-H Club made Christmas stockings for seniors. The club decorated and handmade the stockings out of felt using a hot glue gun. Each High Country 4-H Club member made one and decorated them with all sorts of ribbons and glitter. Each stocking was stuffed with cookies, soap, crossword puzzles and other items that were donated by the 4-H Club families. All the 4-H Club families made an effort to find things they believed the seniors could use.

High Country 4-H Club members Piper and Savannah Bell said it was fun to make the stockings for others. "We had a good time," they said.

Members Ariana and Rachel Madrid delivered the stockings to a small senior home in Murrieta and to the Chateau at Harveston in Temecula, Dec. 11-12.

"When we presented the seniors with the stockings, they were so delighted," Ariana Madrid said. "Some hugged us and one lady almost cried."

One woman shared that she was in 4-H Club when she was a child. She even gave the club a small donation. Rachel Madrid said that giving stockings to the seniors was the favorite thing she did this Christmas season.
