Lake Elsinore PD reports officer-involved shooting

LAKE ELSINORE - Lake Elsinore Police said a gun-wielding man was shot by officers during an investigation on Monday, Jan. 28.

Officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Raven Drive, in Lake Elsinore, after receiving calls of a Hispanic male adult armed with a gun. While officers were conducting their investigation, the officers located the male adult in the immediate area and found him armed with a gun.

According to the report, an officer-involved shooting occurred and the suspect was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and the suspect’s name will not be released while the investigation continues.

The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave. No other information was available.
