Murrieta man charged with contact with a minor to commit a felony

Alan Francis Garrido Escobedo was arrested Tuesday for allegedly engaging in explicit conversations with a teenage girl via social media.

MURRIETA - A 22-year-old Murrieta man suspected of soliciting sex from a Temecula girl during online conversations was charged with contacting a minor to commit a felony on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Alan Francis Garrido Escobedo, being held on $10,000 bail, has no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County, according to court records. After pleading not guilty to all charges, Escobedo is next due in court Feb. 4 for a felony settlement conference.

Escobedo was arrested Tuesday for allegedly engaging in explicit conversations with a teenage girl via social media and sending her lewd snapshots of himself, according to the sheriff's department. He also allegedly asked for a rendezvous to have sex, according to a sheriff's statement.

Detectives first became aware of the relationship between Escobedo and the girl, whose age was not disclosed, on Jan. 14. It was unknown how Escobedo had allegedly been communicating with the girl.

He was arrested without incident Tuesday morning at his residence in the 26000 block of Peachwood Drive in Murrieta, according to the sheriff's department.
