Richard Mohn

Richard Mohn, a longtime resident of Anza, died peacefully in his home Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, surrounded by loved-ones.

Richard was born March 6, 1925, in Reading, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Campaign of World War II and in the Korean War. He retired as a master sergeant.

Richard is survived by his three sons and one daughter and their spouses, Gary and Marie of Phoenix; Ken of Chino Valley, Arizona; Alan and Juya of Menifee and Ann and Preston of Anza.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Mohn, and his eldest son, Rick Mohn.

Richard is also survived by five grandchildren, Amanda, Tamara, Orion, Cooper and Hannah, as well as three great-granddaughters, Anna, Aurora and Olivia.

Richard and his family moved to Anza in 1971. He was owner of a Cal-West construction company until his retirement. Richard was involved in the community in many ways and was the master of ceremonies of the Anza Day Parade for many years.

He will be remembered by all who knew him for his cheerful nature and infectious laughter.

Services will be held at Hemet Valley Mortuary Monday, March 4, with viewing from 10 a.m. to noon and funeral from noon to 1 p.m. Military burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
