Movie Review: 'The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part'

"The Lego Movie" was one of my favorite movies of 2014. It should have won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature that year, and its snub in the category is only explainable by a sort of unofficial disqualification due to its live-action climax. The finale was the icing on an already delicious cake, a touching sequence where audiences learned that the mostly silly, computer-animated adventure that had preceded it was actually a mask for a strained father-son relationship.
