Murrieta man arrested for alleged sexual assault on a minor

A Murrieta man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor, police officials said.

John LeBaron, 60, was arrested Monday, March 4, after police responded to the 39000 block of St. Honore Drive to investigate a possible child sex abuse crime, according to a Murrieta Police Department press release.

During their investigation, officers determined that LeBaron had contacted potential juvenile male subjects using the internet in an attempt to meet for sexual favors.

LeBaron was arrested and charged with contacting a minor with intent to commit specific crimes, lewd act with a child under 14 with force or fear and continuous sexual abuse of a child, all felonies.

LaBaron remains in custody in lieu of $55,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court at the Southwest Justice Center, Monday, March. 11.
