Anza VFW Post 1873 and Auxiliary announces March menu

Last updated 3/7/2019 at 6:49pm

Well, due to Mother Nature’s decision to give the Anza Valley a taste of east coast winter, we have had quite a time serving up meals at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873. We hadn’t served up one of our great meals for two weeks in a row. We finally got one out last Friday, March 1. Please remember that the Post is open to all, not just VFW members.

Heads up! Mark March 23 on the calendar. Ron and Vickie will be serving up their catfish dinner from 3-6:30 p.m. for only $8. The last one was a huge success. So be sure not to miss this one.

Activities and meals for the next two weeks are:

March 8 – Amy’s pork roast with mushroom-garlic sauce, potatoes au gratin, veggies, salad bar, roll and dessert

March 9 – Auxiliary meeting 10 a.m.

March 10 – 2nd Sunday Champs serving omelets made to order, hash browns, toast and fruit

March 15 – Mike’s beef pot roast, potatoes, veggies, roll, salad bar and dessert

March 17 – Comrade’s eggs made to order, sausage links or bacon, potatoes and toast

March 22 – Vickie’s fried chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes, cooked greens, salad bar, roll and dessert

March 23 – Ron and Vickie’s fried catfish, macaroni salad, stuffed tomatoes and dessert

Wednesday – Canteen Snacks and hors d’oeuvres potluck

Thursday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the trimmings, 4-7 p.m.

Friday dinners – 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Saturday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the fixings – Canteen opens 3 p.m.

Saturday: Canteen Snacks available 3 p.m.

Sunday breakfast – 8:30 – 10 a.m.

The meals are open to everyone; you don’t have to be a member.

All meals include coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

If you were born in March, your birthstone is an aquamarine, and your flower is a daffodil.
