HEMET - Five adults were arrested on suspicion of providing a minor with alcohol during a sting operation in Hemet, a police sergeant said.

Police teamed up with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on Saturday to conduct a "Shoulder Tap'' decoy operation, in which minors under the supervision of Hemet police detectives attempt to purchase alcohol from patrons visiting licensed liquor stores.

In total, 15 adults were approached by the minor decoys at five different locations, according to Sgt. Michael Arellano.

Of the five who were arrested, one person was also found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, he said.

The operation also resulted in two vehicles being towed and the seizure of unlawful glassware being sold at one of the businesses visited by police.
