Students give Black History Month essays at MSJC

Stirring essays on the accomplishments of America's most noted African-American residents as seen through the eyes of southwest Riverside County students were heard Wednesday, Feb. 27, during the 15th annual Black History Month Essay Contest Awards Ceremony in the Mt. San Jacinto College Library in San Jacinto.

Thirteen area middle school, high school and college students proudly gave their essays on African-American heroes and innovators who made history in the nation and forwarded a better understanding of the diversity and ethnicities of the American people during the event.
