Chaparral High School's Andrew Mosiello, a University of Oregon commit seen here with his family at a recent signing day ceremony, notched his first high school no-hitter to keep the Pumas on top of the CIF-SS Division 3 polls.

The high school spring sports season is already flying by, especially since the start of the season was moved ahead two weeks by those that operate things at the Southern Section offices of the California Interscholastic Federation, which is the governing body for high school sports in the state of California.

This week the area saw some great action on the baseball and softball fields as well as the boys' volleyball and boys' tennis courts. With the release of the first polls this season, quite a few local teams find themselves getting great exposure in their perspective divisions when it comes to the latest CIF Southern Section polls released Monday, March 4.
