ANZA – Well, due to Mother Nature’s decision to give the Anza Valley a taste of east coast winter, we have had quite a time serving up meals at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873. But we’re back on schedule now.

Heads up! Mark March 23 on the calendar. Ron and Vickie will be serving up their catfish dinner from 3-6:30 p.m. for only $8. The last one was a huge success. So be sure not to miss this dinner. We have a big plumbing expense coming up, so the proceeds from this meal will go toward that expense.

Activities and meals for the rest of March are:

March 22 – Vickie’s fried chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes, cooked greens, salad bar, roll and dessert

March 23 – Ron and Vickie’s fried catfish, macaroni salad, stuffed tomatoes and dessert

March 24 – Amy’s biscuits and gravy, eggs to order, sausage and fruit

March 29 – Annie’s pork chops with sauteed apples, rice pilaf, salad bar and dessert

March 31 – Eggs Benedict with ham, Hollandaise sauce, potatoes, roll and fruit

Wednesday – Canteen Snacks and hors d’oeuvres potluck

Thursday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the trimmings, 4-7 p.m.

Friday Dinners – 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Saturday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the fixings – Canteen opens 3 p.m.

Saturday – Canteen Snacks available 3 p.m.

Sunday Breakfast – 8:30-10 a.m.

The meals are open to everyone; you don’t have to be a member to come eat.

All meals include coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

If you were born in March, your birthstone is an aquamarine, and your flower is a daffodil.
