High rainfall amounts bring super bloom to Anza

Bright yellow camphorweed flowers are common in the hills of Aguanga.

While California poppies are stealing the spotlight, some other species of wildflowers are bursting with color as part of the Super Bloom abundance caused by the recent heavy winter rains.

Lovely blue, subtle white and pale yellow flowers pop from the gentle greens of the newly refreshed grasses and shrubs. Even the cactus are looking rather robust as they absorb the precious water and fatten up for the dry months ahead.

There is actually no need to compete with the crowds in the more popular wildflower viewing areas. The pictured blossoms were found enjoying the sunlight right off Wilson V...
