Closure planned on freeway connector in Corona

Last updated 3/27/2019 at 2:28pm

CORONA - A transition ramp connecting the Riverside (91) Freeway to the Corona (71) Expressway will be shut down on Thursday, March 28 so that Caltrans crews can make repairs to traffic monitors.

The closure of the eastbound 91 connector to the northbound 71 is slated to begin at 9 a.m. and end about 2 p.m., according to Caltrans, which advised motorists to be prepared for detours and delays.

Agency spokesman Shane Massoud told City News Service that the closure is necessary to allow crews to place equipment on the ramp while they repair traffic cameras and QuickMap monitors that enable the public to get real-time information on travel conditions.

A detour will be in place that directs motorists into the city and back to the 71 via surface streets and the 91.

More information about the closure is available at
