Baseball enthusiasts team up to support the Temecula Pony Champions League

Temecula Valley Head Coach Darric Merrill talks baseball with players from his program as well as those from the Temecula Pony Champions League at a recent clinic held at the Ronald Reagan Sports Park.

Established in 2012, The Temecula Pony Champions League provides every child, regardless of special needs, the opportunity to participate in America's favorite pastime of baseball. The Champions League gives Temecula's mentally and physically disabled youth a place on the baseball field, where they can participate in an athletic environment at their level of comfort and ability.

Games take place twice a week and are usually accompanied by a group of "buddies." These buddies span from local high school baseball programs, travel ball programs and local youth programs, such as the Temecula Y...
