'Splash into Spring' gives visitors peek into Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District operations

Children at the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Splash Into Spring open house Saturday, March 23, are outfitted with plastic work helmets, pink for girls and yellow boys and a 'Work Zone" vest to begin their fun-filled and educational visit to the water district headquarters on Chaney Street in Lake Elsinore.

Hundreds of Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District customers and their children visited the district's headquarters Saturday, March 23, for the annual "Splash into Spring" family-oriented fun day.

It was hard to tell who was having more fun, the parents or the children playing in sandboxes with miniature water district trucks and heavy equipment, blowing big bubbles out of play pools, turning huge water valves on and off, learning how to fill sandbags, making bead necklaces, and even trying on safety helmets and suits used by EVMWD workers dealing with hazardous waste.
