Hemet High School student advances in Lions Club speech contests

Hemet High School student James Crawford, winner of the Hemet-San Jacinto Centennial Lions Club student speaker contest in February, will advance to the fourth round District 4-L5 contest, Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. in Whitewater.

Crawford, who won the Centennial Lions contest over a field of eight Hemet and San Jacinto high school students, took the third round win Wednesday, March 22, at the Lions Regional speech contest at Sun City’s Provident bank. He improved his speech entitled, “Freedom of the Press – What Does it Mean?” for recital at the Sun City contest.
