Getting a second opinion after a cancer diagnosis

When someone has just learned they have cancer, it can be overwhelming. Build a support system and saddle up because it is time to learn everything about the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options.

After meeting with the doctor, a patient may have feelings of doubt. They may want to see if another doctor could offer more information, a different perspective, a different treatment option or even more consideration of a personal situation and beliefs. People may think that asking for a second opinion would be awkward or offend their doctor. Do not worry because second opinions are expect...
