The craft beer news organization, Brewbound, reported Tuesday that a spokesperson with Constellation Brands confirmed it would be closing two locations.

"I can confirm (the) closure of these two facilities due to right-sizing our cost structure based on recent craft trends," spokeswoman Stephanie McGuane wrote to Brewbound via email.

According to Brewbound, McGuane said Ballast Point Brewing's San Diego "Trade Street" facility will close and the company has abandoned a plan to open a location in San Francisco.

Constellation Brands purchased the Ballast Point Brewing brand for $1 billion in late 2015.

The Temecula location was a welcomed addition to the area, inhabiting the building that had been home to The Captain's Cabin from 1987 to 2014.

Ballast Point Brewing has locations in Long Beach, Anaheim, Miramar, and Little Italy.
