Lake Elsinore man arrested for making criminal threats, concealed handgun

Donald Brandt, 33, of Lake Elsinore was arrested on Saturday for making criminal threats and being in possession of a concealed weapon.

LAKE ELSINORE - Lake Elsinore Police Department deputies on Saturday, April 13 arrested a 33-year-old man after he was involved in a confrontation with several teenagers who were playing football in the street.

According to the police, Donald Brandt, 33, of Lake Elsinore confronted the group of teenagers about their playing in the street and a fight ensued when Brandt attempted to assault the teenagers. Brandt was struck with a punch and deputies said he threatened to return to the scene with a handgun.

Deputies said when they arrived on the scene, the teenagers had returned to their homes and deputies found Brandt sitting in his vehicle in possession of a loaded, concealed firearm.

Brandt was placed under arrest and booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center for making Criminal Threats, Possession of a Concealed Handgun, and Child Endangerment.

Deputies said nobody involved in the altercation sustained serious injuries.
