Warrant served in Perris results in murder arrest

Gerald Ibarra, Gerardo Jimenez, and Brenda Martinez were arrested on Thursday, April 11.

LAKE ELSINORE - A team consisting of members from several law enforcement organizations in the morning of Thursday, April 11 served a search warrant that resulted in multiple arrests, including a suspect in the murder of Rafael Quintero, who was found dead on January 29.

Deputies and investigators from the Perris Sheriff Station, Perris Homeless Outreach Program, Riverside Auto Theft Interdiction Detail, Sheriff's Marijuana Eradication Team, Perris Animal Control and Code Enforcement, and the Central Homicide Unit, served a search warrant on a 5-acre parcel of land in the area southeast of Phillips Street and Robles Lane in Perris.

The location is about 1.5 miles north of the area where Quintero was discovered.

During the search warrant service, a marijuana grow operation was found and subsequently dismantled.

Arrested in the operation were Gerald Ibarra, 41, of Perris, for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Juan Garcia, 32, of Perris, for a Stalking Warrant, and Brenda Martinez, 34, of Perris, was arrested for a Driving a Stolen Vehicle Warrant.

Gerardo Jimenez, 48, of Perris was arrested for the murder of Quintero after a series of interviews on the property.
