Winchester woman celebrated for her work at homeless facility

Winchester resident Carol Barnes was recently awarded for her work with Father Joe's Villages in San Diego, a homeless housing and program that serves almost 2,000 people nightly.

In 2014, Carol Barnes was at a crossroads in her career. She was laid off from her career in the medical field and began working for a couple of security companies – but she didn't enjoy it much.

Until she started researching Father Joe's Villages, a comprehensive campus in San Diego that serves people experiencing homelessness and poverty and houses nearly 2,000 people nightly.
