26 years at the Diamond begins with new food, fireworks, uniform changes and a Storm win

Left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore is the third-overall selection in the 2017 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft and is already off to a great start with two wins this season for the Storm.

Heading into their 26th year at the Diamond, the Lake Elsinore Storm had already beat the Inland Empire 66ers this season, winning three of the four games played out in the Inland Empire. Fast forward a week when the gates opened for their home opener in Lake Elsinore Thursday, April 11, the Storm were 5-2 after also taking a three-game series (2-1) against the Lancaster JetHawks.

This year's team may be the most exciting the organization has had in years, featuring a loaded starting staff headlined by MacKenzie Gore, who already beat the 66ers this season, and Luis Patiño, the 19-year-ol...
