Bark 4 Books celebrates 2 year anniversary

Children gather around to take turns reading to Cheyenne the German Shepherd therapy dog at the Bark 4 Books two year anniversary event Wednesday, April 17, at the Anza Valley Library.

The two year anniversary of the popular Bark 4 Books reading activity was celebrated Wednesday, April 17, at the Anza Valley Library.

From 5:30-7 p.m., children read selections from their chosen books to Cheyenne, a German Shepherd service dog owned and trained by Michelle Hunt of Anza. The canine greeted each student and laid down calmly to be read to.

"The kids really connect with Cheyenne and are able to take their time and read fluently," librarian and parent Tesse Benson said.
