Board OKs changing meeting times, beginning in June

To reduce Riverside County government employees’ time in heavy traffic, the board of supervisors decided Tuesday, April 16, that board meetings will begin a half-hour later every Tuesday, starting in June.

Board Chairman Kevin Jeffries proposed changing the meeting start time from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. because the current schedule forces “attendees – public and staff – to travel the freeways and local roads during the end of

peak rush-hour period.”

The board concurred in a 4-0 vote, with Supervisor Karen Spiegel away to cope with a family loss.
