Last updated 4/26/2019 at 1:40pm

Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) will proudly present "FLY!" – its annual student art show – from Monday, April 29 through May 9 at the MSJC Art Gallery on the San Jacinto Campus.

Participating artworks are nominated by instructors whose selection criteria are to represent the best examples and a wide range of subject matter and media. The show features the range of media that students learn at MSJC, including drawing, painting, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, ceramic arts, sculpture, bronze casting, photography and digital illustration.

This year, the MSJC Art Gallery is announcing a special purchase award for three stand-out works from the exhibition: The Presidential Award of Excellence. MSJC Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Schultz has generously provided financial support for the school to collect three artworks to add to the school’s growing art collection. The winners will be announced at the opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. The gallery is always free and open to the public.

“The students’ work is full of ideas, emotions, beauty and challenging concepts,” said Art Professor John Knuth. “We encourage you to come and see this very exciting show by some of our finest artists here at MSJC! We hope that the works in this show might send your imagination soaring.”

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday in Building 1400 at MSJC, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto.
