Murrieta brands itself: 'Connect by Community'

The city brand or theme "Connect by Community" shows a large blue scripted letter "M" with a golden yellow sun over it and arched lettering saying "Murrieta" and smaller letters "Southern California" below.

Cattle ranchers of the old west took great pride in their brands easily identifying their cattle and their ranch homes for all the passers by to see.

The Murrieta City Council Tuesday, April 19, while not cattle ranchers, did the same by approving their new brand. The city brand or theme "Connect by Community" shows a large blue scripted letter "M" with a golden yellow sun over it and arched lettering saying "Murrieta" and smaller letters "Southern California" below. Its four bright colors demonstrate the four pillars of the community – safety, education, health care and community.

The new 'branding; is nice. Tasteful. Well done. It is time, though, to consider a theoretically (but highly practical) change regarding the 'medical' aspect of things. There is a very strong case to be made for a re-drawing of the city limits as they exist between Murrieta and Menifee. The Loma Linda hospital ('medical center;) should, for reasons largely (but not solely) related to public safety and fire/police protection services, exist entirely within the city limits of Menifee.
