HS Boys' Lacrosse: Murrieta Mesa edges Great Oak in overtime, will play again for automatic bid to postseason

The Murrieta Mesa boys' lacrosse team handed Great Oak only their second conference loss in Great Oak's 12-year history.

In a nailbiter of a game, it all came down to the final two minutes into overtime when Murrieta Mesa High School's Nick Whittal dodged from the X and buried a shot to the back of the net Thursday, April 18, against Great Oak High School. The ending was fitting that Whittall had the game-winning goal as he did not play in the midseason Murrieta Mesa versus Great Oak matchup, since he was recovering from an injury.
