Murrieta Museum celebrates its grand opening on Juniper Street in Old Town

Murrieta Historical Society President Jeffery Harmon welcomes guests and introduces the new Murrieta Museum during a grand opening event, April 28.

Juniper Street in historic downtown Murrieta was lined with vendors and hundreds of residents and visitors Sunday morning, April 28, with a crowd gathering in front of the new Murrieta Museum that holds hundreds of artifacts and photos of old Murrieta dating back to the turn of the century.

It was the grand opening of the museum at 41810 Juniper Street leased from the city by the Murrieta Valley Historical Society. The formal ribbon-cutting with the historical society's board members, city officials and Riverside County 3rd District Supervisor Chuck Washington brought applause from the res...

It seems very appropriate that Chuck Washington and Jonathan Ingram were both at this event. Two who, among very few others in my opinion, represent the best of the best in Murrieta's elected government; from the beginning to the present day. Thankfully, we now have an excellent city government. But if you've been around this town since at least the time of incorporation, you know things haven't always been this way. In fact, only very recently has this overall state been achieved. Kudos all.
