Thompson-Winchester development approved

A commercial development at the northeast corner of Thompson Road and Winchester Road has been approved by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

The supervisors' 4-0 vote April 16, with Karen Spiegel absent, approved a Specific Plan Amendment, a rezone, a Conditional Use Permit, a plot plan, a tentative parcel map, a variance from the sign quantity limit, and an addendum to the Environmental Impact Report. The 21.16-acre site had consisted of two legal parcels, and Hagerty Development Company will subdivide that into 15 commercial lots.

Since this project is not identified by a specific address, and since it was approved by Riverside County (instead of by a city government), it is fortunately not mis-identified as being in Murrieta. It will, however, eventually have a Murrieta zip code, thanks to inconceivably blasé attitudes of folks at the USPO regarding the confusion they cause with zip code related addressing problems, which the upper level PO folks are unwilling to correct without receiving money.
