Controversy heats up over eradication of Virulent Newcastle disease

The Virulent Newcastle disease regional quarantine map dated Feb. 27 shows the areas currently under quarantine.

Bird owners in the region are angry with California state veterinarian Dr. Annette Jones, the California Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture over the handling of the eradication of the Virulent Newcastle disease and what they said is the inhumane euthanization of their animals.
