City of Temecula associate engineer Jerry Gonzalez discusses an approved amendment to Temecula Municipal Code regarding speed limit increases and reductions in the city during the Tuesday, May 14, meeting of the council.

In addition to the lively discussion during public comment regarding the failed resolution opposing socialism proposed by Mayor Mike Naggar and councilmember Matt Rahn last month, the council conducted other business during its Tuesday, May 14, meeting in city council chambers.

The council unanimously approved an amendment to section 10.28.010 (D) of the Temecula Municipal Code regarding Prima Facie speed limits on certain streets.

The ordinance will reduce speeds in areas where bike lanes have been added or areas that have been deemed appropriate according to studies and surveys.
