Local scout honors fallen veterans with project

Temecula Valley High School junior Giovanni Pena learned a lot of lessons as he worked on his Boy Scout Eagle Scout project this year – building more than 300 wooden crosses to place at the headstones of veterans buried at Temecula Public Cemetery.

"I learned how to delegate," Giovanni said, laughing. "Time management was a huge thing. I was trying to do everything by myself in the garage sanding trying to just do it all by myself."

As he kept working along, friends and family offered to help, and resistant as he was, he relented.
