Pechanga Resort Casino donates to area schools

Pechanga Tribal Councilman Butch Murphy speaks during a presentation of distributing $315,000 to nine area high schools, May 16. Pechanga has donated money annually since 1998 totaling $5.3 million. The $315,000 is distributed between each public high school in the school districts of Temecula, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore get $35,000 to fund and improve various educational programs and facility improvements.

Pechanga Resort Casino presented representatives from nine area schools during a special ceremony held in the casino's Cottonwood Room, Thursday, May. 16.

Great Oak High School, Temecula Valley High School, Chaparral High School, Murrieta Mesa High School, Murrieta Valley High School, Vista Murrieta High School, Elsinore High School, Lakeside High School and Temescal Canyon High School all received $35,000 from the casino which gives money to the high schools every year as a part of its Community Giving program.
