Riverside County receives funds for veterans training programs

Nearly $500,000 in federal workforce development funding was awarded to Riverside County for training programs to assist U.S. Armed Services veterans with procuring jobs in a number of fields, it was announced recently.

About $5 million budgeted under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act has been allocated to agencies in six counties, according to the California Employment Development Department.

In addition to Riverside, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego and Ventura counties are recipients.
