The cast of Shakespeare in the Vines' production of "Sense and Sensibility" opening this weekend at Baily Vineyard and Winery is onstage for the majority of the production.

Shakespeare in the Vines will present Kate Hamill's award-winning new adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel, "Sense and Sensibility," which opened with a preview show Thursday, June 6, at Baily Vineyard and Winery.

The play follows the fortunes and misfortunes of the Dashwood sisters – sensible Elinor and hypersensitive Marianne – after their father's sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable.

The Wall Street Journal described the adaptation as "Rowdy, exuberant, inventive and thoroughly hilarious, 'Sense and Sensibility' is a timeless delight."
