Ramona Bowl Summer Youth Theater presents Disney's 'Mulan'

The Ramona Bowl's Summer Youth Theater presents Disney's "Mulan," July 1-2, with Starr Loza as Mulan and Adan Nunez as Captain Shang.

HEMET – For the 11th season of the Summer Youth Theater, the Ramona Bowl is presenting Disney's "Mulan," July 1-2, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available from the Ramona Bowl box office. The play features over 65 children ages 5-18. Stacey Bailey is the program's producer, Janet Martin is the director and choreographer and Joyann McCall Gongaware is the musical director. The assistant directors are Mallory Miller and Danielle Gamez.

Mulan visits the matchmaker, played by Kaitlyn Armas and Clarissa Vasquez, who are both in the middle, during Ramona Bowl's Summer Youth Theater.

Playing the role of Mulan is Starr Loza, and Adan Nunez is Captain Shang. Dara Bailey is playing the mischievous dragon, Mushu. Mulan's ancestors, who narrate the play and keep a watchful eye on Mulan are Olivia Pena, Nadaici Davis, Mya Votaw, Ivanna Manzyuk and Cosette Cardenas. The Emperor of China is Andy Ballard and his adviser, Chi Fu, is Drake Rogers. Mulan's soldier comic buddies are Ellie Ballard, Nick Jones and Joshua McLeod. The evil leader of the Huns is Devon Young. The Fa family are James Serna as Father Fa, Chamisa Inoway-Mann as her mother Fa Li and Deja Carrillo as the humorous Grandma Fa. The matchmaker is played by Kaitlyn Armas and Clarissa Vasquez.

The children rehearsed for three weeks before presenting the show in the Ramona Bowl. They learned singing techniques, choreography and acting. For more information about this program or ticket sales, call (951) 658-3111 or visit
