Hemet Sunset Rotary awards scholarships to nursing students

HEMET – The Alma Brook Memorial Nursing Scholarship Foundation, which is a part of The Rotary Club of Hemet Sunset, was presented at a ceremony May 1, at the Lakes at Hemet West.

The Nursing Foundation was begun in the 1970s by Past President Art Brook in the name of his wife Alma Brook. They owned a skilled nursing center in Hemet, but Alma Brook died early in life. Alma Brook was a nurse, and Art Brook began the foundation as a way to honor her by assisting young people to become nurses.
