HEMET - A man was arrested in the unincorporated area of Hemet known as Sage after investigators determined a missing person may have met with foul play, authorities said on Sunday, June 23.

Edgar Hernan Mancia, 27, was arrested Wednesday on San Ignacio Road and booked into the Southwest Detention Center for suspicion of murder with malice, according to the Riverside County sheriff's inmate records. Bail was set at $1 million.

Deputies had responded at 6:49 p.m. Monday to the 40000 block of San Ignacio Road, in Sage, regarding a missing person, Sgt. Rick Espinoza of the sheriff's Central Homicide Unit said.

"Deputies and investigators began their investigation and determined foul play may have been involved,'' Espinoza said.

"This is an active investigation and no additional details are currently available,'' he said.

Anyone with information was asked to call homicide investigators at (760) 393-3530 or (951) 955-2777.
