Cheryl Kitzerow, Menifee's Community Development director, has received her certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.

MENIFEE – Cheryl Kitzerow, Menifee's Community Development director, recently received her certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. The certification accredits education, experience, breadth of knowledge, ethical practice and commitment to the planning profession.

"I am pleased to add this certification to my professional accomplishments to best serve the Menifee community," she said. "The AICP places a high value on a code of ethics and I am committed to ensuring professional ethics are maintained throughout the planning process."

Kitzerow, who has served as Community Development director in Menifee since 2017, has an extensive planning background, including more than a decade of experience in the cities of Temecula and Escondido.

With a planning area of nearly 50 square miles and a population nearing 100,000, City Manager Armando Villa said he is happy to have someone with Kitzerow's credentials leading Menifee's Community Development Department during this time of growth.

"We're lucky to have someone in her role who has the pride and work ethic necessary to achieve this recognition," Villa said. "This is quite a personal achievement for Cheryl and also for the city, and thanks to her leadership it has set a high standard for us to follow moving forward."
