Mardi Gras takes over the 87th annual Anza Days

Little Evelyn Schmidt enjoys the Anza Community Hall's Anza Days Kick Off Barbecue dinner served up Friday, June 28.

The 87th annual Anza Days festivities featured the theme, Mardi Gras, in events put on by civic organizations and their army of volunteers as both entries and fans put on their best sparkles and beads for the occasion.

The festivities began Friday, June 28, with the Anza Community Hall's barbecue dinner which was presided over by Danny Stone and a slew of helpers who made the slow-cooked beef brisket, coleslaw, rolls and more for the more than 150 people who attended.
