FEMA offers earthquake safety tips

Federal officials are using last week’s magnitude 6.4 earthquake in the Mojave Desert to remind Californians of the importance of having a quake preparedness plan.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said such a plan should include dropping down and taking cover under a desk or table, preparing to hold on until the shaking stops or staying inside until the shaking stops and it is safe to exit.
