San Jacinto celebrates Independence Day with a parade and street festival

Hundreds of happy families lined Main Street in San Jacinto to watch the annual Fourth of July Independence Day celebration followed by a gala Downtown Street Festival.

The parade was even larger this year with 650 participants and 45 entries and more sponsors as compared to the 450 entrants last year., according to parade announcer John Gagnepain from the city planning department.

Leading the parade with the Amercian and California flags waving in the morning breeze were the Riverside County Sheriff's Mounted Posse.
