Hemet City Council approves 'balanced' 2019-2020 fiscal year budget

The Hemet City Council approved a “balanced” 2019-2020 fiscal year budget, Tuesday, June 25, with the use of the Measure U reserves, unused department revenues and reducing hires by consolidating positions among other actions to save expenditures in the coming year.

Interim City Manager Chris Lopez and the city staff explored the council directions on the ways to create a balanced $46.5 million general fund budget for the upcoming year without using any of the city’s 20% reserves.
