Man arrested after allegedly injuring motorcyclist in Menifee

MENIFEE - A man is in custody today after allegedly running a red light and seriously injuring a motorcyclist on Scott Road in Menifee early Friday, July 12, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies arrested Mauricio Felix, 27, of Perris for allegedly driving under the influence when he crashed into a 45-year-old Menifee resident near Scott Road and the northbound Armed Forces (215) Freeway on ramp at about 5:15 a.m.

The motorcyclist -- whose identity was not immediately available -- was taken to the hospital with injuries described as major, Lt. Scott Forbes said.

Felix was being held at the Southwest Detention Center on a felony DUI with injury charge.

His bail was set at $50,000.
