Murrieta is well represented at 120th California State Open, Anderson bears down to win it all

Josh Anderson of Murrieta is the 120th California State Open Champion after emerging victorious in a one-hole sudden death playoff at the Bear Creek Golf Club Friday, June 28.

The 120th California State Open Championship took place at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta from June 25-28 and featured a very recognizable group from the host city. In fact, it was Josh Anderson of Murrieta who emerged victorious in a one-hole sudden death playoff in the popular PGA tournament.

This is the first California State Open Championship victory for Anderson, the former Nighthawk golfer who grew up in Murrieta. The hometown winner fought off an onslaught of players making a charge in the final round, posting a two-under par 70, and finished with a four-day total of 273, 15-un...
