Anza man accused in Desert Center crash appears in court

A 20-year-old Anza man was ordered to stand trial on eight felony charges stemming from allegedly driving drunk and causing a crash that killed two people north of Desert Center last year.

Judge Otis Sterling ruled Monday, July 22, that enough evidence was presented at Austin Bly Ellington’s preliminary hearing to proceed to trial on two counts of DUI gross vehicular manslaughter and six counts of DUI causing injury, with enhancements for committing the alleged crimes while out on bail.
