Kathy Crabbe stands with a painting from her "Divine Feminine" series on display in the Siler Gallery until Aug. 4.

TEMECULA – Siler Gallery, 41923 Second St., Suite 101, in Temecula, announced a new exhibition and artist's reception Friday, Aug. 2, from 6-9 p.m. Kathy Crabbe's "Divine Femine" will be on display until Aug. 4.

Kathy Crabbe's exhibition features large expressionistic abstracts along with smaller witchy watercolors, zodiac goddess cards, wooden talismans, jewelry, oracle decks and books. The "Divine Feminine" series is painted with acrylic, pastel and charcoal on large canvases over a five-year period of deep, internal soul searching.

Inspired by goddess spirituality and abstract expressionists, Joan Mitchell and Per Kirkeby, Crabbe said she paints to unleash and free inner demons on a journey into divine feminine intimacy. The spiritual journey of healing and redemption includes eyes, moons, circles and ancient spirals from goddess legend planted within each painting to seed hope in a future of empowered women, Crabbe said.

Crabbe is a self-taught artist from a long line of well-known Canadian artists. An artist, writer, teacher and soul guide Crabbe invokes goddess spirituality to heal, make whole and holy. Her work has appeared in "We'Moon Datebook," Sage Woman Magazine, Sawdust Art Festival and the Women's Museum of California. She writes a moon column for witches and pagans and is a mentor at Wise Woman University where she teaches a Divine Feminine eClass. Crabbe lives in Temecula and the Thousand Islands, Canada, with her two dogs and architect husband Mark in homes they've built themselves.

The Siler Gallery is open Aug. 2-3 from 3-9 p.m. and Aug. 4 from 2-6 p.m. For more information, contact the gallery at (503) 969-0009 or contact the artist at http://www.kathycrabbe.com.
