Fallbrook man pleads not guilty in alleged DUI death of Murrieta teen

Lily Harrison, 15, was killed when the California Highway Patrol said Jose A. Zazueta, 19, of Fallbrook was driving drunk and drove his car head-on into a car Harrison was traveling in June 1. Zazueta pleaded not guilty to three felony DUI charges at his July 30 arraignment.

A 19-year-old Fallbrook man pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Friday, July 30, to charges in a June 1 crash that killed a Murrieta teenager on a rural Temecula road.

Jose A. Zazueta responded to the charges of driving under the influence causing gross vehicular manslaughter, causing bodily injury, and driving with a blood alcohol content level of .08 percent or more causing bodily injury.

Zazueta's attorney, Rena Wallenius, said pleading not guilty is a very typical response to the charges.

In a phone conversation last week, Wallenius said Zazueta asked his family not to bail him...
