Local families take home clothes, shoes and school supplies provided by Temecula Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4089 and Auxiliary and Hope's Community Closet.

Local families gathered throughout the day at the VFW post, 28075 Diaz Road, for a free shopping experience event to receive clothes, shoes and school supplies just in time for back-to-school.

The event is organized and led by VFW Auxiliary members Tammy Golden and Art Bartolome and Hope's Community Closet founder and executive director, Krissy Allen.

"This is a true testament of the partnership of local nonprofit organizations working together," Auxiliary President Mag'e Hernandez said. "We are stronger in unity to provide great services for our community."
