MURRIETA – A man accused of accosting women in a Menifee parking lot, soliciting sex, was charged Thursday, Sept. 5, with loitering on private property.

Vincent Manuel Flores, 31, was arrested Saturday following an investigation by Riverside County sheriff's deputies.

Flores was arraigned on the misdemeanor allegation before Superior Court Judge Paul Dickerson, who accepted the defendant's not guilty plea and scheduled a trial-setting conference for Monday, Sept. 9, at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Flores is being held on $5,000 bail at the Byrd Detention Center.

According to sheriff's Sgt Victor Pierson, about noon Saturday, Aug. 31, Flores allegedly wandered into the parking lot of the Menifee Town Center, near the intersection of Haun and Newport roads, and approached several women.

“The male adult (was) asking them if they would engage in sexual intercourse with him,” Pierson said.

He alleged the defendant was also peering into vehicles, as though searching for valuables. At one point, Flores allegedly tried to open a female motorist's door after she had parked, according to the sergeant.

Deputies arrived within a few minutes and took the defendant into custody without a struggle.

He has no documented prior felony or misdemeanor convictions in Riverside County.
